Artists Point, Grand Marais, MN — scan from original silver-gelatin print

This image was made on the shore of Lake Superior (Gichi-gami) in Grand Marais, Minnesota. The dark grey basalt rock that makes up Artists Point was formed from volcanic eruptions 1.1 billion years ago, creating the Midcontinent Rift System.

Recently, and for a limited period of time, I offered a small number of silver-gelatin prints of this image, matted in 11×14″ Museum board and at a reduced price, to those on my mailing list. All but one sold within 24 hours, but there is one left.

The prints were all hand-printed by myself in the darkroom. This is an open edition, meaning that further prints will be available, but those will be printed to order and at the regular price. It’s stamped and signed, matted and will be sent by USPS Priority Mail with tracking. Shipping (within the U.S.) is included.
